Arthur Sommerfeld (77), loving husband and father, passed away peacefully
March 21, 2000 and is now reunited with his loving wife. Arthur was born
November 3, 1922 in Hamburg, Germany, to Gustav Edvard and Marie Friebel
Sommerfeld. Married Marie Kuehnel on May 8, 1948 in Hamburg, Germany;
later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They immigrated from Germany to
America in 1953.

Survived by six daughters, Gudrun (Ron) Parr; Gabriele (Gary) Ratliff;
Wendy (John) Hayford; Mary (Kerry) Lambertsen; Nancy (Carl) Wright;
and Lisa (Gary) Larson; 30 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren;
sister, Helene (Ralph) MacKay; brother, Werner (Daphne) Sommerfeld.
Preceded in death by his wife, Marie; sisters, Mary Panitsch, Hedwig Radtke,
Hilda Sommerfeld.

Arthur was a faithful member of the LDS Church in the Tenth Ward, Salt Lake
Park Stake. He enjoyed doing family history and was a 100% home teacher.
His love and humor will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 12 noon at the Tenth Ward, 420 South
800 East, SLC. Viewing will be Friday, 6-8 p.m. at the Tenth Ward.
Viewing one hour prior to services.

Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Deseret Mortuary.
