Dear Dieter:

It was so nice to receive your email. I did find out that the majority of my great-grandfather, Reinhold's family settled in Viroqua, Wisconsin, and the local old cemetery is filled with headstones of many Sommerfelds with the name spelled several different ways.

Here is some information I have gathered from some family members in Wisconsin. See if any of it sounds like your family.

Mary SOMERFIELD (SOMERFELD), born 3-7-1948, daughter of Laurence Earl SOMERFIELD, 10-31-1923, granddaughter of Oscar Emile SOMMERFELDT, 01-30-1884 in Viroquia, Wisconsin.

I hope that we will be able to find out more information. Wouldn't it be fun if we were related ?
